Holly Nelson-Johnson, MSN, APN, FNP-BC is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, certified, senior Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, MBSR mentor through the Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute, University of California San Diego, an Interpersonal Mindfulness teacher, and an Insight Dialogue facilitator.

Holly is a Mindfulness consultant in Medical, educational, corporate, legal, and community settings. She was awarded MBSR teacher certification through the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA.

She is the founder of Illinois Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Research Consortium, and the Illinois Insight Dialogue Association.

Holly holds a Master’s degree in public health nursing from the University of Illinois, and advanced certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her professional experience includes medical faculty,  emergency care, primary care, hospital and community based clinics, as well as disaster relief work.

Holly’s has worked in volunteer service settings in United States and overseas. She  is a five hundred hour American Viniyoga Institute certified Yoga teacher, and has been teaching Contemplative practices for more than twenty-five years. Holly is married, has two young adult children, enjoys photography, reading, the arts, hiking, and outdoor adventures.
